The Training Source offers job training and job placement assistance to assist job seekers including survivors of Domestic Violence.

Through training, participants will develop/enhance the necessary skills to successfully transition into full-time employment, and earn living wages that allow economic mobility.

We currently offer: 

  • 8-week Office and Professional Services Training Program that is a combination of live training sessions and independent study, followed by intense individual and group counseling, and job placement assistance and follow-up services.
  • 5 – 6 Session Customer Service Certification Program that includes morning and evening options, career assessment, training, certification testing and fees, and job placement assistance and follow-up services.

Key components of our training programs include:

  • Computer Skills – Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Life Skills – Self-Esteem and Motivation, Time/Money Management, Business English and Communications
  • Customer Service Skills – Customer satisfaction including dealing with difficult customers, quality support skills, and more.
  • Professional Skills – Resume Preparation, Business Correspondence, Interview Techniques, Dressing for Success, Successful Job Search Strategies and Job Survival Tips

Participants will also be eligible to obtain a Certified Customer Service Professional Certification that is recognized industry-wide and can assist in transitioning into various roles across diverse industries.

Frequently Asked Questions

When are training classes held?

Office and Professional Training Program Classes are held Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. including 30 minutes for lunch. Customer Service Certification Training Classes are held during morning and evening sessions Monday – Friday. Additional details will be provided to interested candidates who complete the Preliminary Assessment Form

What are the requirements for admission?

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Possess a desire to work full time and make improvements in your life

How much does the Office and Professional Services Training Program cost?

Program funding is exclusively available for eligible candidates. All candidates admitted into the program receive full funding as qualified Maryland, District of Columbia or Virginia residents. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive job placement assistance and post-placement job retention support.

How do I get started?

To get started, you will need to complete the preliminary assessment form. This required documentation will determine program eligibility. Once completed, you will be invited to an info session.
